I love taking my little one with the zoo with friends, but I know firsthand how difficult it can be to simply leave the house with littles let alone spend the day at the zoo. Let me share with you some of my must-haves that make it easier for me and more enjoyable for the kiddos!
5. Snack Containers. An all-day adventure calls for a lot of snacks and we always make sure we pack plenty. There are a lot of options that we have used over our many trips. The biggest thing is to make sure things stay fresh but also are easy to open and eat out for kids. I like to pack food in normal containers but then bring a cup like this one for my child to actually eat out of. It makes it easy for her to hold and eat out of while sitting in the wagon or stroller while we keep moving.
4. Travel water cup. I like this cup from Amazon because it does not spill and the straw is covered by the cap so it can stay cleaner! My daughter has been using this since 11 months old and she loves it.
3. Snack pouches! I started buying the applesauce-based ones at the store but the price can add up if you have more than 1 kid or do this often. I purchased these reusable ones on Amazon and they have been a lifesaver. You can put applesauce, yogurt, or homemade purees in them! I like to buy a big tub of strawberry yogurt to fill them. They are easy to eat on the go, easy to pack, and dishwasher-safe!
2. Small diaper bag. I like packing a small bag with just wipes and diapers in it because it makes it so much easier to quickly take into the bathroom with you without hauling everything around. My small bag fits easily under a stroller, in a wagon, and can even hang on them. I have even hung it on the back of my car seat for easy access while traveling. This one also comes with a detachable changing mat you can lay out to avoid dirty tables.
1. Foldable Wagon! While I loved my stroller, having a toddler who wants to stand and look at everything, a stroller does not make the cut. Like most moms, I jumped on the bandwagon (no pun intended) and I wanted a wagon; however, I simply could not afford a Wonderfold wagon. I found this wagon on Amazon and feel like it is a great (and CHEAPER) alternative to the name brand! It has actual seats that remove, 5-point harnesses, can be pushed or pulled, overhead canopy, and more! While it is not “cheap” is about half the cost and so far I have no regrets.
Let me know what your favorite zoo (or other outings) must-haves are!

My child loves the applesauce pouches too but they can add up $$. I might try the reusable ones!
